Carta a los cristianos hebreos – Letter to the Hebrew Christians

• La advertencia: Heb. 2:1-3, “¿cómo escaparemos si descuidamos una salvación tan grande?”      6:4-6, “imposible que … sean renovados para arrepentimiento”.

• The warning: Heb. 2:1-3, “how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?” 6:4-6 “impossible to … renew to repentance.”

• Exaltar y estimar a Cristo: Superior a los ángeles, 1:5, “mi Hijo eres tú”; 1:6, “Adórenle todos los ángeles”; 1:8, “tu trono oh Dios”; 1:9, “Has amado la justicia, y aborrecido la maldad”.

• Exaltar and appreciate Christ: Superior to the angels, 1:5, “my Son”; 1:6, “Let all God’s angels worship Him”; 1:8, “your throne, O God”; 1:9, “You have loved righteousness and hated wicked-ness.”

• Exaltar y estimar a Cristo: 2:14, 15, llegó a ser hombre para librarnos del diablo; 7:25- 27, “viviendo siempre para interceder” por nosotros; 8:6, Mediador del Nuevo Pacto; 10:11, 12 Perfecto sacrificio, nos hace perfectos.

• Exaltar and appreciate Christ: 2:14, 15, became a man to free us from the devil; 7:25-27, “ever lives to make intercession” for us; 8:6, Mediator of New Covenant; 10:11, 12, Perfect sacrifice, makes us “perfect.”

• Por eso, convertirse a Cristo: No a un “plan”; no a la iglesia. 5:9, Autor de eterna salvación para todos los que le obedecen; 12:2, puestos los ojos en Jesús, autor y consumador de la fe.

• Therefore, be converted to Christ: Not to a “plan” nor to the church. 5:9, Author of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him; 12:2, fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

• Hay que temer: 4:1, Temamos pues, no imitar a los israelitas que cayeron; 10:31, ¡Horrenda cosa es caer en las manos del Dios vivo!; 12:28, 29, sirvamos con temor; Dios es fuego consumidor.

• We must fear: 4:1, Let us fear, not imitate the Israelites that fell; 10:31, It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!; 12:28, 29, serve God with reverence and awe … our God is a consuming fire.

• Exhortarnos unos a otros cada día: 3:13, para que ninguno se endurezca por el engaño del pecado; 10:24, 25, animarnos al amor y a las buenas obras, NO DEJANDO DE REUNIRSE.

• We must exhort each other: 3:13, lest anyone should be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin; 10:24, 25, encourage each other to love and good works, NOT NEGLECTING TO ASSEMBLE.

• Necesario crecer: 5:11-6:1, algunos solamente pueden recibir leche … vamos adelante a la perfección … Hech. 20:32, Palabra tiene poder para sobreedificarnos, darnos herencia.

• Necessary to grow: 5:11-6:1, some can only receive milk … let us go forward toward perfection … Acts 20:32, Word has power to build us up, give us an inheritance.

• Necesario orar: 4:15, 16, Tenemos Sumo Sacerdote que se compadece de nuestras flaquezas … Acerquémonos confiadamente al trono de la gracia, para alcanzar misericordia.

• Necessary to pray: 4:15, 16, We have a High Priest who is able to sympathize with our weak-nesses … Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, to receive mercy.

• Imitar a los fieles: 6:12, no perezosos, sino imita-dores de los fieles; cap. 11, los héroes de la fe; 12:1, grande nube de testigos (los del cap. 11) … 13:7, imitar la fe de los que les predicaron.

• Imitate the faithful: 6:12, not lazy, but rather imitators of the faithful; chap. 11, heroes of the faith; 12:1, great cloud of witnesses (those of chap. 11) … 13:7 imitate the faith of those who preached to you.

• Soportar pruebas: 10:32-36, sostuvieron gran combate de sufrimientos, vituperios, tribulaciones, hechos espectáculo … despojo de los bienes sufristeis con gozo … no perder la con-fianza … primero obedecer, luego heredar.

• Endure trials: 10:32-36, sustained a great conflict of sufferings, insult, tribulation, made a spectacle … suffered with joy the loss of possessions … don’t lose your confidence … first, obey and then inherit.

• Tener esperanza viva: 6:18-20, Tenemos un fortísimo consuelo, la esperanza puesta delante de nosotros, la cual tenemos como segura y firme ancla del alma, penetra hasta dentro del velo.

• Have a living hope: 6:18-20, We have a strong consolation, the hope set before us, which we have as a firm and secure anchor of the soul, it enters within the veil.

• Conclusión: Estimar y convertirnos a Cristo … Temer … Exhortar … Crecer … Orar … Imitar a los fieles … Soportar pruebas … Esperanza viva … ¡No descuidar la gran salvación!
